Behind Guhit Mark
Inspiration & Beyond
My name is Jhon Mark S. Blay, and I am a seventeen year old self-taught artist. I've been drawing since I was a kid, but it's mostly for fun or school projects and not actually drawing to become skilled at it. It's only last December of 2020 that I really started practicing drawing to become a professional artist. I specialize in graphite and charcoal pencils in a realism style, and I've also started drawing using colored pencils and markers. I always wanted to try all sorts of mediums in creating art but I only gotten far in those mediums mentioned above. It's only recently that I manged to try painting for once, and though for me it wasn't good enough, but at least I can see an improvement along the way. I also do commissions now and then, mostly portraits of people or drawings for their school projects. As a teenager, it became my only source of personal income, which I then use to buy other art materials and for my personal needs. Arts became part of my life and I'm glad that I'm also part of it. It's not just my hobby or a pastime activity, it's also the one that I felt most connected to. To speak of my website, Guhit Mark started as my way of documenting the things I learned and accomplished along the way, but it soon grew into a resourceful platform for like-minded enthusiasts, offering tips, listicles and related information involving arts.My blog covers a wide range of art-related things, and in each post I try to share my knowledge through storytelling and visuals. For me, knowing that there are people who are as passionate about my interests as I am means everything, and it’s exciting to see my followers grow.
